Helida can now better serve her community!

After losing her mother when she was a teenager, the course of Helida’s life drastically changed. No longer able to afford school fees, she began small businesses to survive.  Like many other women in this community, the loss of a loved one didn’t stop there. Helida has lost many other family members, including her husband, due to health ailments, many of which were treatable.

Helida jumped at the chance to be a community health worker with MED25, hoping that she could be an ambassador towards changing health care in her community. Helida thrives in her new role and continues to be a leader in her community. She never misses a training opportunity, always wanting to learn more in hopes she could save the life of a person in need. Bill, Colleen and David, through your donations, you have provided Helida with the education and supplies she needs to continue to  serve the 280 households of her community, impacting the lives of more than 1,600 individuals.
