Judith gets the protection her sister never had!

Judith is 19 years old, married, and expecting her first child. Judith experienced a very tragic loss two years ago when her older sister, Catherine, died after having malaria during her pregnancy. It was a very big loss for her whole family, but especially Judith as Catherine was her only sister. She was very worried about her own pregnancy, and tears came to her eyes when she received the antenatal care kit, knowing that she can now protect herself in a way that her sister couldn’t afford to.

Each antenatal care kit includes a mosquito net to sleep under, water treatment drops to provide clean water for her entire pregnancy, a laboratory test for ongoing evaluations of maternal health, and medications including malaria prophylaxis, deworming, ferrous sulfate and folic acid. In addition, mothers visit the Med25 clinic each month during their pregnancy to receive maternal education and check ups from clinic professionals.

Judith expresses that she now can enjoy this pregnancy because she does not have to live in fear. Judith and her husband work all day in the farm, but struggle to make ends meet. Now, Judith no longer needs to worry about the cost of health care during her pregnancy to protect herself and her baby.
