Cynthia is 20 years old and was born and raised in Kirindo village in rural Kenya. With an average life expectancy of 37 in this community, many young adults marry in their late teens in hopes of starting families early. Cynthia and her husband were overjoyed when they found out they were going to have their first child. Cynthia and her husband work as farmers and due to a drought that has affected the entire region are so thankful for any help they can get. Knowing that Cynthia’s antenatal care needs are taken care of by your donation has lifted a weight off of their shoulders.
Each kit includes a mosquito net to sleep under, water treatment drops to provide clean water for her entire pregnancy, a laboratory test for ongoing evaluations of maternal health, and medications including malaria prophylaxis, deworming, ferrous sulfate and folic acid. In addition, mothers visit the Med25 clinic each month during their pregnancy to receive maternal education and check ups from clinic professionals.
In this picture, Cynthia is explaining to the MED25 Clinical Officer that she can now focus all of her savings onto the needs of the baby after delivery. Thank you for helping relieve the stress Cynthia has around the finances of her pregnancy!
