Lilian protects her baby from Malaria!

lilian
Dear Michael,

Lilian is 25 years old and works as a business woman in Mbita town in Kenya. During her last pregnancy a few years ago, Lilian’s main complication was malaria. Unfortunately, her malaria symptoms when untreated for two months which caused preterm labor and low birth rate. Unfortunately, her baby did not survive. When Lilian first found out she was pregnant, she was concerned about not receiving the care that she needed to protect herself and her baby. Her concerns were put to rest when she came to the MED25 clinic and received her antenatal care kit.

Each kit includes a mosquito net to sleep under, water treatment drops to provide clean water for her entire pregnancy, a laboratory test for ongoing evaluations of maternal health, and medications including malaria prophylaxis, deworming, ferrous sulfate and folic acid. In addition, mothers visit the Med25 clinic each month during their pregnancy to receive maternal education and check ups from clinic professionals.

Lilian feels relieved that she has what she needs for a safe and healthy pregnancy. She will continue to take her malaria prophylaxis and other important medications as prescribed in hopes of doing everything she can to ensure a healthy delivery. Lilian thanks you for lending a helping hand!
